With a steady stream of arts events and openings penciled on the calendar, I deemed it mandatory to check out the latest fashion exhibit at LACMA. Part one of the three part series was incredible, featuring elaborate hand sewn and embroidered ball gowns and menswear dating from 1700-1900. I spent the afternoon weaving through rows of fanciful outfits, awe-struck by the beauty, craftsmanship, pride and formality of each piece (surrounded by a sea of sloppy, fanny-pack-wearing, running-shoe-clad observers that I couldn't help but note so poignantly demonstrated the opposite). Can't wait for part two...it should highlight some of my favorite eras in fashion.

PS...and this week a photography discussion with David LaChapelle? LACMA is amazing.
